Differentiated impression

Differentiated impression

they are capable of compressing malleable and not overloading malleable areas of the mucous membrane of the prosthetic bed. Under such conditions, the impression is obtained, the basis of the prosthesis and, consequently, the entire prosthesis as a whole are not reset during speech function and interact well with the hard tissues of the prosthetic bed, ensuring an even distribution of masticatory pressure. In other words, when obtaining a functional impression from a toothless upper jaw, it is recommended to load the areas of the mucous membrane with a well-defined vertical pliability, and to unload the areas with a thinned, atrophied mucous membrane with minimal pressure of the impression material, i.e. to obtain a differentiated impression. Therefore, the impression must be obtained using two different materials with different degrees of fluidity. The technique of obtaining differentiated impressions is quite diverse, but the basis for obtaining the necessary form of the basis of the prosthesis should be an impression obtained by two-layer silicone or alginate masses. The principle of obtaining an impression consists in loading the mucous membrane with the first low-flow layer of the impression material, then - mechanical removal of the impression mass from the surface of the individual spoon in the areas corresponding to the zones of the malleable mucous membrane, and finally, obtaining a second layer with a much more fluid mass.
