A

Adaptation

A complex psychological and neuro-reflex process of adaptive reactions appears in response to changes in essential parameters or environmental factors for the organism.

Adentia

is a specific dental disease characterized by complete or partial absence of teeth - congenital or acquired for various reasons

Adhesion

the appearance of a bond between the surface layers of two dissimilar (solid or liquid) bodies brought into contact.

Adhesives

substances that strengthen or create attachment, gluing. They are thick liquids, gels or varnishes and are used to fix the impression mass to the spoon. They are also called binders substances that strengthen or create attachment, bonding. They are thick liquids, gels or varnishes and are used to fix the impression mass to the spoon. They are also called binders

Algin

(Latin name – Alga) is a gelatinous adhesive substance extracted from algae. It is used to produce alginate acid.

Alginates

are salts of alginic acid extracted from marine and river algae. Alkaline salts are soluble in water, alkaline earth salts are insoluble. This is the basis for their use as a basis for elastic impression masses. They contain, in addition to soluble alginate salt, gypsum as a reagent, sodium phosphate as a reaction moderator, carbonates, diatoms, etc.

Alveolar tubercle

is a convex formation of the base of the zygomatic process of the temporal bone. The articular disc and the head of the lower jaw slide along its slope when opening the mouth and pushing the lower jaw forward.

An articulator

is a mechanical device with which it is possible to reproduce the movements of the lower jaw relative to the upper one with high accuracy.

Articulation-occlusal relationship

of the ratio of dentition in various movements of the lower jaw.

B

Buffer zones

The concept of "buffer zones" was introduced by E.I. Gavrilov in 1962. This term defines areas of the mucous membrane of the hard palate with a dense network of blood vessels, which consequently have vertical pliability. The mucous membrane covering the alveolar ridge and the area of the palatine suture has minimal buffering properties. The buffering properties of the mucous membrane of the hard palate are taken into account when distributing masticatory pressure along the prosthetic bed. Using them, it is possible to unload the mucous membrane of the alveolar process, thus preventing its premature atrophy.
